Before I trusted Christ
I was living in the world, doing my own thing. Even though I knew of God, I didnít know Him for I never read or studied the Bible. I acknowledged that God existed, but I maintained control of my life. I remember saying that the lives of my wife and children revolved around me. I wanted to be the center of their world.
Since I've trusted Christ
After being arrested in 2000, and sentenced to prison in 2003, I started reading the Bible and God's word started to sink in. I am very grateful for a Bible instructor who showed me 1 John 5:11-15 that says if I believe in Jesus Christ and take him as my Savior then I am truly saved. God's Word says that I am.
I prayed and committed my life to Christ.
Since Christ has come into my life, I have changed. Things I used to like to do, I donít do them anymore. God's word is in my mind when I think about how to come to a decision on how to act in any situation. The Holy Spirit of God convicts me when I think wrongly or do anything against someone. I have learned to apologize for my behavior (and change my behavior), something which I never used to do when I was on the street.
I know that I am God's child, and that He is continuing to mold my character.
